“Singing just makes me feel good.” “The choir is so much fun.” Music is an enriching component of our church services. Our choir sings a very eclectic selection of secular and spiritual choral music throughout the year and helps lead congregational singing. We’re always looking for voices to add to our choir. This is a non-auditioned choir, so everyone is welcome. In addition to our church services, the choir produces an annual Cabaret in April which is an evening based on a theme, full of songs, skits and good comedy. It is a highlight of our church year. We need sopranos, altos, tenors and basses. If you don’t know what your voicing is, Jane will help to place you.

We welcome singers of all ages and stages to this group, where we sing in unison, sometimes in rounds, and occasionally with kazoos! The Multigenerational Choir reherses for 3 Sundays from 9:30 – 10:00 am and sings in the morning service on the third Sunday. See the Events page for the dates of the next series of rehersals.
Vocal Latitudes is a world music community choir that sings traditional and popular music from various parts of the world. Frank Rackow, a talented jazz and Klezmer musician, leads the choir. The choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings, at 7.30 pm, September through June, in Panabaker Hall. The repertoire runs the gamut from classical, to pop, jazz, and gospel and world music. Much of the material is sung a capella (unaccompanied voices). There is no audition process. Interest and the desire to sing with a chamber-size choir are the only requirements. You don’t have to sight-sing or have choral experience, just be able to match pitch and sing along with your section. The Unitarian Church of Calgary is a sponsor of this choir.

"Helping Hands, Loving Hearts"
Rev. Debra Faulk and the Caring Team
Unitarian Universalism offers us a faith that challenges our energy usage and confronts us with hunger and injustice around the world without giving inadequate simplistic answers. It offers the harder path of respect for all beings and for the Earth, and calls us to be accountable for our actions. We are responsible for our own spirituality, our own salvation, and for doing all that we can to make the world better.
