UCC Winter Weekend Retreat

February 17-19, 2017

Kamp Kiwanis

You are most welcome to join us at this retreat, where about 35 adults and older youth gather for a weekend of reflection, activities (all optional), and good company, all on a theme of Simplicity.  The retreat runs from Friday supper until Sunday lunch.

It will be held at Kamp Kiwanis, a rustic children’s camp a short way out of the city.

This Retreat offers opportunities to get away from your normal day-to-day concerns and spend some time in reflection, fellowship with Unitarians and friends, and taking part in some of these sessions:

  • The practice of Deeper Listening, led by Joan Riches
  • Sacred Circle Dances, led by Paulie Duhaime
  • Food as a way of protecting your health, led by Conrad Ayasse
  • Creating art – Mandalas, led by Rachel Collins
  • Seated Meditation – led by Tracey Pickup of the Wild Rose Sangha
  • Saturday evening Games Café

There is also time for the outdoors (weather permitting), journaling, or simply time for you. All activities are optional. This is an excellent way for newcomers to get to know others in the congregation.

Price includes programming, meals and accommodations.

  • Adults – $155 (deadline – February 9)
  • Students $90
  • Bursaries are available for those who would find the cost burdensome. Fill out either the online bursary form or a paper bursary form and return to a member of the Retreat Committee or to the Retreat mailbox in the church office.
  • The deadline for registration and bursary requests is February 9.
