Calgary Unitarians are involved in many social and environmental justice projects, both inside and outside of our congregation. We encourage our members to follow their own consciences in choosing the causes for which they work as individuals. However, we use a democratic process whenever we adopt a policy that speaks for the congregation as a whole. We also partner with like-minded religious and secular organizations that already are doing valuable work in a given field.
We believe that, to be effective, our efforts need to encompass the “three pillars of justice.”
1. Immediate Action: community volunteering, fund-raising
2. Advocacy for Change: letter-writing, rallies
3. Education: Monthly Sunday Forums (check the Events page)

We Unitarian Universalists have inherited a magnificent theological legacy. In a sweeping answer to creeds that divide the human family, Unitarianism proclaims that we spring from a common source; Universalism, that we share a common destiny.
